No New Posts The Dockyard

As the city is built upon a number of islands, there are many places to dock a boat all around the city. But these and the surrounding warehouses process most of the city's commercial shipping, in addition to many of the ferries and passenger ships that transport people between the islands, to the mainland, and even around the world.

No New Posts The Stacked Deck

A seedy bar and pool hall, the Stacked Deck is a notorious hotspot for criminal activity. Well within east Gotham, even the highest profile criminals and rogues dare to show their faces here as it's usually much more dangerous to be a police officer or vigilante in this crowd. It is, however, a known location so it isn't completely without risk. It often plays host to some of the darker meetings of Gotham, but it's also simply a good place for the wanted to unwind.

No New Posts Ace Chemicals

Ace Chemical Processing Plant is a prominant chemical factory and warehouse located in Gotham North. Originally known as Kane Chemicals and owned and run by the Kane Family, the factory and company was sold to another owner and was eventually named "Ace Chemicals." Over the years Ace Chemicals became affiliated with underhand dealings and immoral practices; becoming linked with various trafficking of illicit materials. It is also a pivotal point in one certain rogue's life - the Joker, through circumstances unknown, had fallen into a certain vat of chemicals, leading him to become the Clown Prince of Crime he is today.

No New Posts Amusement Mile

Built in the 1920s, Amusement Mile was a favorite tourist attraction in Gotham City. At the time it was built, it housed the highest ferris wheel in the United States and the world's fastest roller coaster. However, poor management eventually left the park in such disrepair that it was condemned and abandoned, only to be taken over by the Joker for a time. But it was later reclaimed and restored, once again serving tourists, but business has been slow.

No New Posts Crime Alley

Now better known as Crime Alley, Park Row is the worst of the worst when it comes to poverty and crime within Gotham. Originally built as an upscale street, it along with the rest of east Gotham gradually decayed over the years into what it is today. Doctor Leslie Thompkins runs a clinic here, and it's also the location where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. A small side street, located in the East End. It is a dangerous, crime-infested area. This is where Joe Chill killed Thomas and Martha Wayne in front of their young son, Bruce Wayne.

No New Posts Iceberg Lounge

Quite easily, the ritziest place in Gotham City. Built by Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin, the place has an eccentric arctic theme, with numerous ice sculptures and aquariums lining the walls. In the center of the building is a large habitat for leopard seals, who may or may not have an acquired taste for human flesh.

No New Posts Gotham State University

Since the very first days of Gotham City being a prominent metropolitan area in the states, Gotham State University has been one of it's greater sources of pride. High roofs, a columned entrance, even a fountain encompassed by shrubbery artwork and benches before it's steps. The University is a place for people young and old, rich or at least well off to come and expand their mind through rigorous programs that promise to place the student who walks out of their doors with the degree of their choosing an extraordinary place to work.

No New Posts The Gotham Gazette

A metropolitan newspaper with nation-wide syndication, the Gotham Gazette is among the most popular of Gotham's many newspapers. Frequently reporting on the activities of both vigilantes and rogues, it's often one step ahead of its competitors and even manages to keep people reading in spite of television and the internet.

No New Posts Robinson Park

Located on the northern end of Gotham Central, Robinson Park is a haven for those who wish to have a nice day out in as close to 'nature' as Gotham can offer. Most of the park is filled with open fields, some parts with floral gardens and others with various shrub gardens and whatnot. All parts of the park can be navigated by way of the sidewalks. Many people bring out their canine companions as well. Nearly all parts of the day from sunrise to sunset, the park is at least populated.

Gotham Cemetery is the burial grounds of Gotham City.

No New Posts Gotham Cathedral Church

The Gotham Cathedral Church is a monolithic cathedral that stands more than 800 feet from the ground. Once intended to be the spiritual center of the city, the Cathedral has since fallen into ruin as the city itself has fallen into corruption and decay. With stone gargoyles and tolling bells watching over Gotham from its towers; designed conceptually to keep evil at bay, the Cathedral easily dwarfs the surrounding buildings of Gotham.

No New Posts City Hall

A place for the political and social leaders of Gotham City to meet and deliberate various affairs and events of the city. Mostly political, the building is brick on the outside with white pillars lining the staircase and the front. On the inside, the decor is based on mahogany and beige colored accents. A nice building all in all, just not nice to be in. Unless of course, you happen to be a politician.

No New Posts Gotham Tower Apartments

A sprawling apartment complex, Gotham Towers Apartments is conveniently located only a short distance from central Gotham. Most of the apartments on the lower stories are small and affordable, but still nice, while the upper stories feature larger suites that try to tempt residents more accustomed to the luxury more easily found in north Gotham.

No New Posts Wayne Tower

Literally at the heart of Gotham City, Wayne Tower is the headquarters of Wayne Enterprises, the corporation responsible for most economic growth and thus money flowing in the city. Wayne Enterprises makes charitable donations to nearly every sector it can because it has the money to do so. The tower itself is constructed of reinforced glass and steel, the inside almost as luxurious as Wayne Manor itself.

No New Posts Wayne Manor

The home of billionaire CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne. The building alone takes up a good stretch of land. On the inside, elaborate marble floors and pillars make up the manor's construct, a winding staircase leading up to the multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, guest rooms, living areas, and everything else that has a duplicate on the ground floor. A popular spot for social events hosted by Bruce Wayne privately or for Wayne Enterprises, many of the elite of Gotham are well familiarized with the home, and yet couldn't be more oblivious to the secret lair beneath their very feet. Tucked away among the caves beneath Wayne Manor, this hidden fortress is the lair of the elusive and mysterious Batman. Slowly expanding through the years, it seems to have almost everything: labs, a medical area, a workshop, a garage and hangar, a gym, and even a trophy room. All of it is full of cutting edge technology (sometimes literally!), from the Batcomputer, to the Batmobile, to the Batwing, to the many variants of the Batman costume for special missions.

No New Posts Gotham City Poilce Department

The GCPD has long been steeped in corruption with numerous officers both high-and-low ranking involved in crimes ranging from bribery to drug-trafficking and murder. Located in the business district of Gotham City, this is the headquarters of Gotham's finest. Outside, a large brick building, like many others in the city. Inside, papers are scrabbled around office spaces, the whole of it a mess. Naturally, the area for detaining prisoners isn't as nice. Perhaps a bit cleaner, but also darker and bleaker. Clearly, the Gotham City Policemen are busy people with no time to clean up.

No New Posts Gotham West

The business and industrial sector of Gotham City. Home to the Gotham City Police Department as well as the headquarters for Wayne Enterprises. This sector is the busiest, with Gotham's workforce from blue collar to white collar travelling to and from work at nearly every hour of the day. Taxis clutter the roads, and pedestrians make their job harder. Lined with skyskrapers and other such business buildings, not many people live here. But chances are that if one lives and works within Gotham City, they're here at least once per day.

No New Posts Gotham East

Bar none, the worst part of Gotham City. The part that you don't want to be caught dead in. Not during the day, but especially not during the night. This is the sector where the mafia rules nearly everything. The casino is completely in their control. Drugs and prostitution are rampant. Litter lines the streets like it was supposed to be there. During the day the sector is grim looking, and at night the neon lights of the many strip clubs, bars, and of course the casino are what serve as stars. Gunshots are heard around the clock, as are police sirens.

No New Posts Gotham South

The most populated sector of Gotham City. This is the portion where the middle-class thrive, instead of the wealthy elite of the North or the downtrodden poor of the East. The streets could use some cleaning, but all in all the majority looks like a decent enough suburb. Two-story homes as far as the eye can see, public schools, some decorative gardens. Break-ins are relatively common here though, as the crime from the East End sometimes infiltrates the sweet suburban life.

0 0 No posts have been made on this board.
No New Posts Gotham North

The northernmost sector of Gotham city is generally full of the wealthy and the elite. Homes worth millions of dollars, and that doesn't even include the manors. The 'safest' part of Gotham, the most open as well. The skyskrapers don't block one's vision of the night sky here. It actually gets dark at night. Unfortunately for the average citizen, most can't afford to live here.

No New Posts Gotham Central

The epicenter of Gotham City. This is the place for city officials to hold important meetings behind closed doors, and also to showcase their deliberations in front of various media outlets. Journalists of the newspaper, of both Gotham City's own news stations and outside cities' news stations, are found here on nearly a daily basis. It's a large piece of land, but hardly any of it is really open to the elements. Nearly the entirety is boarded up by the glass and brick skyskrapers that give the city it's closed up, gothic feel.

No New Posts Blackgate Penitentiary

Located on a small island in the Gotham Bay to protect the civilians of the city. Blackgate Penitentiary is a place to house criminals who were not found to be insane such as thieves, murderers, rapists, thugs, and members of the mafia are the typical sort that are found here.

No New Posts Downtown Gotham

Where good fights evil, and seems to be losing. Villains are overwhelming the population. Criminals linger in the alleyways, and one wrong turn could end in death or worse. Citizens speak of giant bats materializing before one's eyes, winging over rooftops; some do so in fear; some with overpowering confidence. Do you have what it takes to survive in this most dark of cities? If you don't, escape while you can. If you do, fight for your life because your worst nightmares are lurking in these shadows.

Arkham Asylum

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts Arkham Asylum

The psychiatric hospital for insanity. Many psychopathic criminals such as the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Two-Face, the Scarecrow, Killer Croc and Harley Quinn have been imprisoned within the Asylum and also escaped from it. The main site in Gotham City for harboring the mentally insanity. The psychologically disturbed are housed here under the care of Dr. Jeremiah Arkham and his staff, but they are also in charge of looking after the criminals and villains found in court to be clinically insane. For the safety of the Gotham City civillians, Arkham Asylum is located on the very fringes of Gotham City.

No New Posts Arkham Intensive Treatment

The darkest sector of Arkham Island, in the North. The building itself is the smallest that the psychological compound has to offer, and for good reason. Only a few inmates can be safely stored here at a time, but what few do have the misfortune of being placed here are serious cases of psychotic criminals. There are also cells here that aren't necessarily for the worst of the worst, but for criminals with special needs; who couldn't survive without particular environments.

No New Posts Arkham Medical Facility

On the southernmost region of west Arkham Island, a place to house the physically ill of the inmates. Whether they just caught a seasonal virus or if they've always been sick, this is the place that they're treated. Like all the other buildings on the island, it's not a particularly pleasant one to be in. The stale air combined with the psychosis of the very land it rests on, the atmosphere less than ideal. Still, the view here grants hope. In the distance to the south, the glimmering lights of Gotham City break through the night sky and the buildings themselves shine beautifully with the reflection of the sun gleaming during the day.

No New Posts Arkham Penitentiary

A place to house the clinically insane who do not meet the requirements for being placed within intensive treatment. Aside from Arkham Manor, this is the largest building on Arkham Island, housing the most inmates and requiring the most staff. A dull, dreary building with gothic styled architecture built by the Arkham family when it first settled in Gotham City. Decorative gargoyles line even the insides of the building. For the inmates, the rooms are made of one of three materials, depending; plexiglass, brick, or fence. On the west side of Arkham Island, this is the best spot to get a view of Gotham City just a few miles across the bay.

0 0 No posts have been made on this board.
No New Posts Arkham Botanical Gardens

Generously donated on behalf of the Arkham family, the Botanical Gardens are a place for both visitors of the island and inmates alike to have supervised visits, to get a feel for nature outside of the dreary and horrid life in a cell. Native and exotic plants are housed here, and cared for by Gotham's best and brightest botanists, as well as inmates who have been deemed sane enough to be a part time volunteer. Located on the east block of Arkham Island, it is perhaps the nicest feature around, aside from Arkham Manor itself, which lies just east of the gardens.
