Powers and Abilities:
• Empathy: Psionic ability of empathy, the power to absorb the emotions of others, enabling Bella to feel the feelings of others through her touch. Bella can also absorb the pain of others through her touch in order to rapidly heal others from any physical injuries, as well as heal herself.
• Telepathy: Bella is able to read thoughts, project and broadcast her own thoughts, as well as scan the memories of others.
• Witchcraft/Magic: Bella is a half human and half Wiccan of magical birthright which means she possesses the ability to manipulate magic since she was born a human with the affinity to control magic, allowing her to use the witchcraft she was born with. She was trained in Witchcraft that allows her to summon magic with just a few rhyming chants, words, or phrases, free of any spells, rituals, or spell books. Bella's training has not given her a set of her psychokinetic power separate from her magic, but only honed her control over her existing abilities. She has, however, a special affinity for the natural elements and materials that witches utilize in their spells: the four alchemical elements, fire, water, earth, and air. Bella had the ability to manipulate probability via her magic which manipulated energy fields and matter to varying degrees. These spells were initially short range, and are limited to her line of sight. Bella regularly practices magic over a long period of time, particularly if hereditary, will begin to be charged with higher dimensional deity magic, and may perform magical feats. This will in turn super-charge Bella’s psychokinetic power. However, like a battery, she can run out of power rather quickly. Casting a spell would initially require a gesture and concentration on Bella’s part, though the gestures are largely a focus for the concentration. Early in Bella’s career, her powers were unconscious, and would be automatically triggered by her emotions whenever she made a particular gesture, regardless of her intent. Bella's magic would only manifest as “bad luck” if triggered by negative or fear effects. So Bella later gained enough control over her powers that only work when she wants them to, and they are not to be used for evil or selfish purposes. Bella vows to only use her magic for good to protect and heal people but never use it for vengeance or harm others. Bella can use her magic to cause a wide variety of phenomena which includes:
• Making Potions.
• Shapeshifting.
• Casting Spells and Phrases.
• Casting Illusions.
• Teleporting objects.
• Transforming objects.
• Wrapping Reality.
• Healing Factor.
• Rapid or spontaneous melting, decaying, breaking, healing, or fixing objects.
• Lighting flammable objects.
• Blocking, unlocking, closing and opening doors, objects and technological devices.
• Exploding and summoning objects.
• Deflecting physical and magical attacks.
• Causing objects to spontaneously appear or disappear.
• Manipulating time, weather, nature, and technology.
• Precognition: Bella has the ability to foresee or feel possible futures and observe what may happen as knowledge of the future invariably causes that future to change and visions of the future are subject to frequent shifting although while not being able to select futures or travel through time, these visions may assist in possible courses of action. Bella would also have visions within her dreams or nightmares. Bella can also predict the futures of others. However, Bella’s visions are not always clear or sometimes has visions even when she is not utilizing this power at will. It is also possible that some visions, like the one resulting from someone or something that allows her to see and discern information about people, events, and places.
• Telekinesis: Bella’s main power is the ability to telekinetically manipulate, propel and levitate objects and herself with her mind. Bella can also create protective Force Fields through Telekinesis so that she and her allies can be protected against certain danger while she also can move, manipulate and otherwise interact with matter or energy with force fields, typically through Telekinesis to encapsulate or grasp her targets in order to control it while she can also trap opponents or enclose objects inside a levitating dome of force, as well as use force fields to levitate or make platforms.
• Criminology
• Psychology
• Interrogation
• Investigation
• High Level Intelligence
• Indomitable Will
• Hand To Hand Combat: Bella was trained in a self-defense class due to her being bullied at a young age.
Weakness:
• Mental Illness: Although Bella appears to be currently sane, her mental stability is still questionable. Bella has undergone mental breakdowns, episodes of mental illness, Depression, Paranoia, and Anxiety, relating to her powers and personal traumas.
Personality:
Bella is intelligent as she had gained a significant amount of intelligence over the years due to her love of knowledge. Bella has a sarcastic sense of humor. Bella is protective, polite, compassionate, and understanding who likes to help others and guide them to a right path whenever needed. Bella is motivated, determined, and independent who likes to do things her way without help from anyone. Bella can sometimes be bad-tempered and touchy whenever people don’t take her seriously but she has a softer side within her and she's shown to be rather shy in front of crowds and during the process of making new friends as well as awkward and insecure at times. Bella is a serious but kind and caring young woman who is sensitive and shy while she felt isolated in the world at a young age but she had developed a sense of independence that would often put her at odds with the world due to her curiosity though she can be rather quiet and reclusive around people because of her shyness. Bella can sometimes be a bit awkward and clumsy because despite Bella’s empathetic personality, she struggles with self-confidence and self-esteem. In a situation, she deems urgent, like doing something for Bruce Wayne or losing something that will expose her secret identity, she becomes very nervous, awkward, and quick to panic. Bella is not afraid to speak her mind though she sometimes can hesitant when she is nervous. She's very helpful and is willing to help those who have insecurities, trying to see good within people despite how they present themselves. However, opposed to that strength, Bella herself losses confidence just by approaching her crush, Bruce or if she thinks others do greater success compared to herself. Bella cares deeply for other people, usually putting their feelings and interests even before her own, in some cases at a personal cost. Despite being genuinely kind, Bella has her limits, she can act impulsively and irrationally at times. Bella attempts to overcome any negative or fear thoughts that would interfere within her mind and remain positive and confident as much as possible to accomplish her goals no matter what. Bella also expresses jealousy whenever other women such as Selina Kyle flirting with Bruce, sometimes causing her to act irrationally, even abusing her powers as Crow Woman to keep them away. However, Bella maturely tends to learn from her mistakes and become a more open-minded, understanding person. Although Bella is absent-minded and acts before thinking at times. Furthermore, Bella is willing to do a number of risky tasks in order to protect her identity and image.
As Crow Woman, Bella retains many of her alter ego's characteristics, but she is much more brave, confident, headstrong, adventurous, serious, stubborn, and strong-willed. Bella’s confidence and bravery come out more prominently. Bella’s quick-thinking and resourcefulness are more obvious, especially when she is investigating and fighting crime. Bella strives to rescue everyone, including criminals in distress. No matter the difficulty of Bella’s tasks, she does everything in her power to set things right while keeping up with her everyday responsibilities. Bella has a more serious side when fighting criminals. At times, Bella can get exasperated but she handles a situation calmly. Bella is more cautious and careful as she would sometimes insist to Batman that violence is not always the answer as she mostly prefers to help others, not harm them because she is more of a protector than a fighter. Bella strives to keep her personal and vigilante lives separate to protect herself and the people she knows or she is close to. Bella is also great at giving advice to others when they need it and with her greater confidence, she aims to be honest with others. Bella’s emotions can sometimes cloud her judgment, such as running in fear after she accidentally killed her father, living in fear and guilt. Underneath Bella’s heart lies a darker core because at certain points, Bella would allow her emotions to cloud her better judgements and commit acts normally out of the question and in this respect, she had experienced the loss of her loved ones thus mutilating her heart to the point, going as far as conscious murder. However, Bella not only learned the error of her ways, but she made a serious effort to right the wrongs and values all lives, refusing to carry out acts of justice through the use of violence and murder. Thanks to Bella’s confidence as Crow Woman, she's gotten more calm and comfortable around Bruce as herself.
When Bella is with Batman, Bella’s true colors are shown, showing her to be free-spirited and ultimately kind, brave, intelligent, independent, confident, caring, strong-willed, and appreciative. Bella's compassion for humanity is mostly seen whenever she is with Batman as they eventually formed a strong companionship that deeply holds a special place in Bella’s heart as her only friend who understands her and who she can trust. However, Bella is truly, deeply, and secretly in love with Bruce Wayne who is her secret love interest. Bella has a crush on Bruce but she never had the courage to talk to him because of her being a bit awkward and clumsy around him. Bella often daydreams about Bruce and longs to win his heart, but her awkwardness around him makes it a great challenge for her. However, Bella has prioritized Bruce’s happiness over her own. Though Bella vowed to never tell Bruce about her feelings for him until the time is right. So Bella told Bruce that he should never be afraid to tell her anything and that he can trust her after she discovered that Batman is Bruce Wayne's true personality and she promised him that his secrets will always be safe with her. Bella will risk her life for Batman because Gotham City needs a hero like Batman and that she will always be there for Batman because she cares for him just like she cares for the people of Gotham City. Bella will always be very loyal and faithful to Batman whenever he is around but whenever he is not around, Bella is a young woman who is capable of doing many things and that she is her own person.
The years passed, and Bella matured into a powerful Wiccan, trying to forget about the trauma from the incident at the Gotham City Cathedral Church. But Bella’s visions from her nightmares continued to relentlessly haunt her every night, forcing her to conceal her magic in order for her to live a normal life among society. Bella’s powers soon began to guide her to a new purpose to redeem herself and free herself from her fear and guilt, to become Gotham’s new guardian angel known as Crow Woman with the use of her telekinetic and psychic powers.
Despite the initial fear and distrust, Bella established herself as Gotham’s guardian angel, entrusted by Batman to ensure the safety and health of every citizen is of utmost important.
Bella can usually be found meditating inside her home in the outskirts of Gotham, the interior decorated with wind chimes, candles, and various religious imagery, including pentacles and runes, which explain her ties to the past. Her crystal ball is ostensibly used as a window into the future, and she always has a wild premonition or two.
Bella’s powers are second to none. Bella uses Empathy that can instigate feelings of serenity and tranquility when a subject is weak and injured, allowing her to tend to a victim’s wounds. She has saved many lives, which only adds to her status as both a healer and a protector. Bella also has the power to calm angry feelings and end arguments with her psychic powers. She also has command over the elements - Water, Fire, Earth, Air - to aid her in her meditation sessions, as well as telepathy, telekinesis, and shapeshifting.
Bella vowed to never use black magic or any kind of magic for vengeance or to harm anyone. Bella refuses to raise the dead or curse anybody, which can leave her open to a stronger counterattack from a stronger being. This extends to her one rule in never harming the citizens of Gotham and most criminals can exploit that rule, which means she will have to be rescued by Batman on some occasions but overall, Bella is a young woman who attempts to seek the good in all people she encounters and vows to only use her magic to heal and protect those in distress, reminding the people of Gotham that there’s an angel watching over them.
Biography:
Isabella Alice “Bella” Raven is a 25 year old young woman, dressing like a crow to hide her true identity as a half human and half Wiccan as she was born with the psychic power of a Wiccan. Bella’s alter ego, Crow Woman is known to be a Vigilante with the sympathy for all beings. Bella would guide the unfortunate ones to the right and safe path while she vows to never use her powers for murder or vengeance and only use her powers to heal and protect others. Bella lives a secret double life as Crow Woman who would support Batman in attempt to rid Gotham of crime and restore justice whenever needed. Bella is bound by her personal code of justice that resolves to never take a life while watching over Gotham and protecting others as well as the devotion to do whatever is necessary to help others and make the world a better place for all especially the innocent and deserving. In her secret identity she is Bella Raven, a Criminologist as she is great at giving advice to others when they need it. Bella lives in Burnside which is a small borough on the outskirts of Gotham City where a secret service is hidden in her bedroom closet of her condo home that runs up to her secret attic called, The Crow’s Nest where she stores her Crow Woman crime fighting suit and gear. The Crow Glider was a gift from Batman that Bella can use to fly to any destination. Bella’s pet crow, Draven is her eyes and ears, guiding her way across Gotham City whenever trouble is near.
Origin
Before Bella was born, Annabelle Alice “Anna” Raven who was a pure Wiccan, struggling to live a normal life among the citizens of Gotham while she worked as a Priestess of the Gotham City Cathedral Church but she would secretly use her witchcraft to physically and mentally heal people in need. Anna lived in the Gotham Tower Apartments with her Fiancé, Joseph Adam Cross aka The Priest who was a Priest of the Gotham City Cathedral Church with a serious mental problem of paranoia and schizophrenia that made him devote his life to being a Christian who believed everything was sinful, including his relationship with Anna after he discovered that she was a Wiccan and that she was pregnant with their first unborn child. Joseph’s disorder was most likely a form of undiagnosed and untreated Schizophrenia that worsened as he aged and as a result of his untreated condition.
One night, Joseph threatened to kill Anna and her unborn “cursed” child so Anna called the GCPD as they arrested him and sent him to Arkham Asylum. Anna had since then lived a new life as a single mother with her unborn child.
Nine months later in the Gotham General Hospital, Anna gave birth to her daughter, Isabella Alice Raven on the night of Friday the 13th. But Joseph was released from Arkham Asylum on the same night that Bella was born before he sneaked into the hospital and he killed Anna by stabbing her in the heart with a knife. Joseph kidnapped the newborn Bella and escaped just before the GCPD arrived at the hospital but only for them to find Anna’s lifeless body and the newborn child missing.
Childhood
After Bella was born, she was raised and homeschooled in abuse and slavery throughout her childhood in the Gotham Narrows by Joseph. Bella was forced to do household chores for Joseph, such as cooking and cleaning. Joseph refused to have pictures of Anna, and did his best to avoid the subject of Bella’s mother altogether. Joseph resented Bella for her magic, which was sporadic, but evident. Joseph strongly discouraged any sort of imagination. Joseph also verbally and emotionally abused Bella and sometimes by depriving her of meals whenever something "unusual" occurred. The way Bella was treated bordered on abuse, but was left unreported to authorities. Joseph refuses Bella to socialize with anyone outside their home as she was forced to be isolated inside their home from civilization. Joseph paid almost no attention to Bella though what little attention he did pay to her was negative in its entirety.
In Bella’s youth, Bella could make strange things happen without understanding why she could, as no one had told her that she is a half human and half Wiccan. Bella would get punished, even though she had not done anything on purpose.
Over time, Joseph occasionally had wild fits and broke into loud rants and tantrums if he ever caught Bella doing something that he considered a "sin", which was basically anything that didn't have to with the Bible. Joseph berated and abused Bella every day for sins the child may or may not have committed and he would often make the child repeat passages out of one of his many religious books or hit and beat Bella with them. He would also abuse her in order to compel Bella to agree with him and obey his ridiculous rules so she could "pray for forgiveness.”
But despite Bella being raised in toxicity and emotional abuse, Bella declared herself independent and strong-willed by remaining kind-hearted and self-loving unlike her cruel father, not allowing the bitterness surrounding her life to overtake her and morph her into someone as cruel as her father. Bella makes the most of her misfortunes by remaining optimistic of the possibilities of a brighter future, keeping herself preoccupied with enforced housework and imagination.
As assumed, Bella’s primary goal in life was to escape from her father. However, as Bella was under The Priest’s control since her childhood when her mother passed away when she was born, such a feat proved to be difficult, with the emotional abuse and manipulation having been planted in Bella’s mind for far too many years, making for an obedient and fearful young woman when faced with The Priest’s wrath; she would typically make attempts to avoid any form of conflict with her father as a direct result of this. Bella’s daily goal was to make the most of her situation, but she never forces herself to bottle up her true emotions in an unhealthy manner; instead, wisely trying to keep them under control, while also trying to keep in mind that the future holds brighter experiences.
The Omen
At the age of 11, Bella saw a crow soaring across the night sky towards her bedroom window. Bella made a brave attempt to run away from her father. Joseph noticed that Bella was trying to escape as he restrained her but the crow pecked Joseph’s head with its beak until Bella broke free from his restrains and she ran away from home, far away from the Gotham Narrows. Bella followed the crow that was guiding her to the outskirts of Gotham until she arrived at a small psychic shop in Burnside where she met her Aunt, Evanora Angela “Eva” Raven who was her mother’s older sister and a pure Wiccan just like her mother and the crow was her pet, Draven. Bella lived with Eva and her pet crow, Draven in her psychic reading shop that was located in Burnside on the outskirts of Gotham City where Eva would work as a Fortune Teller, predicting information about a person's life. Eva was also considered the epitome of a protective aunt and she was always there when Bella needed her. Eva was encouraging, supportable, caring, responsible, wise, dedicated, and protective. Eva never believed in fates and valued faith to accomplish goals while providing moral and emotional support for her niece while keeping a positive attitude and a smile whenever Bella had a bad day. Eva had carried the burden of responsibility, knowing that she had to lead Bella and be a good role model as an aunt and a mother figure, having to care for Bella. Eva can be gentle and understanding, though she can be rough on occasion. Eva was not above scolding Bella or becoming upset with her but getting angry at her unwillingness to try to make something of herself as she would encourage Bella to be the best that she can be, willing to do everything she can to support Bella for her future. Eva would even remind Bella that some people will accept her if she accepts herself for who she is and that being different is what makes people like her special.
Meanwhile, Bella lived in fear with a secret after she discovered that she was born as half Human and half Wiccan with the power of Telekinesis. It's a powerful ability, but also extremely dangerous. Bella would spend every minute trying to suppress her growing powers as her emotions would trigger the magic, accidentally setting off destruction that she can't stop. Bella feared that she was becoming a monster and bringing bad luck to herself and everyone around her and therefore she struggled not to use her powers if possible. So Bella was homeschooled by Eva, teaching her how to control her powers with witchcraft and other educational purposes.
A Misfit
At the age of 14, Bella wanted to experience normal life outside her home so Eva eventually accepted Bella’s request, believing that Bella is mature enough to take care of herself and allowed her to attend to Gotham City’s Roxbury Fielding Academy where she was a insecure and shy student of Roxbury Fielding Academy as she has been rejected, mistreated, and bullied by the students of Roxbury Fielding Academy because of her Avoidant Personality Disorder so she never had any real friends and remained a outcast to the world. Bella was constantly picked on and mistreated by her classmates because of her differences which causes her to isolate herself from socializing with others as she believed that she was better off alone since nobody ever took her seriously so she could never trust anyone.
However, a young man, Bruce Wayne was one of the students in Roxbury Fielding Academy who would be the only one who would respect Bella whenever her classmates would pick on her. Bella began to develop secret feelings for Bruce but she feared that if he ever knew the truth about who she is and her feelings for him, their friendship will never be the same so she kept holding onto her feelings for him until the time is right for her to tell him.
Revenge
At the age of 17, Bella accepted Bruce Wayne’s invitation to go to the Roxbury Fielding Academy’s Prom with him as their first date that took place on the night of Friday the 13th. But while Bruce and Bella were sharing their first dance together, a rope was pulled down that dumped the bucket of crows’s blood on Bella in front of everyone at the Prom. The crows’s blood soaked Bella’s hallucinates that everyone was laughing at her and calling her a witch. Bruce was shocked by what they have done to Bella as he sworn to her that he had no idea that they would pull such a cruel prank on her which caused her to flee out of humiliation. Bruce followed Bella who fled out of the Roxbury Fielding Academy as he insisted to have his butler, Alfred Pennyworth take them back to Wayne Manor for her to get cleaned up before later taking her back to Burnside on the outskirts of Gotham City.
But when Bella and Bruce returned to Burnside on the outskirts of Gotham City, they discovered that Eva was missing as she was no where to be found inside her psychic shop before they followed Eva’s crow, Draven to the Gotham City Cathedral Church there they found Joseph Adam Cross aka The Priest who had kidnapped Eva as he attempted to burn Eva alive with a candlelighter because he had come to believe that The Devil had truly come to Gotham, to collect Bella’s soul. The only way for The Priest could save his condemned daughter was to kill her daughter before The Devil did. So before Bella could make attempt to save Eva, The Priest restrained Bella with a knife in attempt to stab her in the heart in the same way he killed her mother. Bruce arrived and attempted to save Bella as he warned The Priest to let her go. But this caused Bella to accidentally unleash her telekinetic fury upon The Priest only because she chose to fight back against the constant and collective tormenting and bullying in a way that most people in her life cannot understand or comprehend except Bruce. Before The Priest could react, Bella defended herself as she used her telekinetic powers to forcibly push The Priest off of her that made him flew backwards until he hit the back of his head against the wall and he fall onto the floor that snapped his neck, accidentally killed him. Bella didn’t mean to kill her father despite that she discovered that he was the murderer of her mother and what he had put her through during her childhood. Bruce warned Bella to get out of the church that was beginning to burn around them because The Priest’s lifeless body dropped the candlelighter causing fire to spread across the church. Bella refused to leave Eva behind but Eva screamed for Bella to get out of the burning building while being burned alive. Bruce helped Bella escape from the burning building as they left both Joseph’s and Eva’s lifeless bodies behind and they made it out to safety. Bella could only watch in horror before the burning building collapsed to the ground with Eva’s lifeless body that was still trapped inside. Bella felt deeply devastated from the death of her aunt who was the only one in her life who ever cared for her as she now takes care of Eva’s crow, Draven.
Later that night, Bruce tried to reason with Bella about the incident she had accidentally caused between the destruction of The Gotham City Cathedral Church and her father’s death, assuring her that what she has done was an accident out of fear and anger. Bruce is the first and only friend in Bella’s life who understood her as he advised her not to run away but to redeem herself from her mistakes if she wanted to earn acceptance from the people of Gotham. Bruce promised Bella that he won’t take her into custody, knowing that she will do the right thing someday and he also promised to keep Bella’s identity as a half Wiccan a secret.
After the destruction of The Gotham City Cathedral Church that ended up making Gotham’s natural history which the authorities assumed that Joseph Cross committed suicide after the death of Eva Raven, Bella vowed to live a normal life among the citizens of Gotham and she also vowed to never use her powers again for the safety of others and herself from being exposed to the world as a half human and half Wiccan.
Gotham State University
At the age of 18, Bella attended to Gotham State University where she studied Criminology and Psychology and where she became friends with her roommate, Stephanie Williams.
During Bella’s final year in Gotham State University at the age of 24, Professor Johnathan Crane was the professor of psychology, specializing in fears at Gotham State University.
However, Bella unexpectedly became Crane’s interest after he discovered that Bella was terrified of how people would view her, a trait that he shared. So Crane would have private therapy sessions with Bella in his office everyday after class as her psychologist, assuring her that she can trust him with all of her secrets and fears as she accepted his offer to help her overcome her traumatic past and they eventually created a special trusting bond between a teacher and a student.
Fright Night
On the night of Friday the 13th, Crane invited Bella to his office for their last private meeting after class. Crane revealed himself in his scarecrow costume while also revealing his secret emphasis on the study of fear, which would caused his eventual sacking for using harsh methods such as performing fear-inducing experiments on his students with his fear toxin to expose their deepest and darkest fears. Crane offered Bella a chance to help him accomplish his goal on showing Gotham the true meaning of fear with his fear toxin. Bella refused to be part of Crane’s plan as she attempted to make her escape and call for help to warn everyone about Crane’s plan to expose his fear toxin to everyone inside Gotham State University. But Crane apprehended Bella and attacked her with his fear toxin, causing her to hallucinate into revealing her fear of becoming a murderer due to her past when she accidentally killed her abusive father who had tormented her throughout her childhood. Crane revealed to Bella that he only used her to get to know her deepest darkest fears so he can use them against her if she refused his proposal as he continued to torment her, watching her consume her fears. Bella’s crow, Draven thankfully witnessed Bella’s distress from Crane’s office window and flies across the night sky to warn someone until Batman saw the crow and realized that something was wrong before he arrived at the Gotham State University to investigate.
Meanwhile, Crane escaped from Gotham State University, allowing Bella’s mental state to worsen which left her trapped within her fears until Batman came to her aid, curing her from the fear toxin with the antidote before he saved everybody else that was trapped in the building that was effected with the fear toxin.
Later that night, Bella was hospitalized and recovered at the Gotham General Hospital for the effects of the fear toxin while Crane aka The Scarecrow went on to murder people responsible for his dismissal. The incident of Gotham State University had earned Crane the attention of Batman. Batman, working alongside with Commissioner James Gordon, investigated the case and fought with the Scarecrow. Crane was apprehended and sent to Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane.
One Year Later
At the age of 25, Bella graduated from Gotham State University with a doctoral degree in Psychology and Criminology before she became a new member of the Gotham City Police Department as a Criminologist as she would support Commissioner James Gordon in attempt to provide explanations to who commits crime and why they did it by analyzing behaviors and methods of criminals. Bella would develop profiles of criminals and criminal behaviors by using researches and studies that examines psychological behaviors, social issues, environmental, and biological factors. Bella develops profiles and organizes statistics into meaningful information to develop strategies that prevents crime. The Bat-Signal is the searchlight located on the rooftop of the Gotham City Police Department that would shine into the night sky above Gotham City to call Batman for his support whenever needed. Bella focuses on the study of crimes and their causes, effects, and social impact, involving analyzing data to determine why the crime was committed and to find ways to predict, deter, and prevent further criminal behavior. Bella would diagnose and treat individuals suffering from psychological distress and mental illness, treating emotional and mental suffering in her patients with behavioral intervention into more healthy behavior, improving her patients' quality of life with education and therapy to help them with life adjustment problems, and also with those who have emotional disorders or mental illness to assure that everyone should be treated equally and that nobody should ever had to go through bullying or tormenting abuse trauma like she had.
Wonderland
One night, Bella heard rumors that her friend, Stephanie Williams has been missing for two days so she organized a search party for Stephanie Williams with the help of Commissioner James Gordon.
Meanwhile, Jervis Tetch aka The Mad Hatter organized a search party for "Alice" with the help of his brainwashed henchman who was wearing a mind controlled white rabbit mask.
Later that night, Bella continued to search for Stephanie Williams when she found herself being stalked by a brainwashed henchman wearing a mind controlled white rabbit mask who knows about Stephanie Williams which forced Bella to chase after him until she followed him to an abandoned hat shop in the Bowery.
When Bella walked inside the hat shop to investigate, she encountered Jervis Tetch aka the Mad Hatter who is obsessed from a young age with Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Jervis Tetch is an expert hypnotist, embraced a delusion that he was the incarnation of a character in the story, The Mad Hatter.
By using his skills for mesmerism, the Mad Hatter committed many crimes that were often themed around the book that inspired him and his love of hats and headgear, and went so far as to implant his hats with mind-control chips to amplify his hypnotic abilities. The Mad Hatter was also obsessed with the concept of "Alice", and brainwashed countless young women in his attempts to find Alice, and murdered them when he was finished with them. The Mad Hatter believed that Bella was Alice as he was determined to take her away from Gotham back to Wonderland with him. Bella discovered to her horror that the Mad Hatter was responsible for the kidnapping and murder of a number of young women including the murder of Stephanie Williams whom he saw as incarnations of Alice.
Before Bella could escape, the Mad Hatter drugged and brainwashed her with the intent of using the mind control technology and chemicals to make her forget about her past life and make her believe that she is Alice and return her to Wonderland. Tetch had improved his mind control technology to the point where he could use it to render weaker minds completely malleable to his suggestions, which enabled him to use the technology on several criminals and formed a small gang to assist with his schemes. Jervis managed to add the finishing touches to a group of henchmen, and talked at length about how he had never received much attention from anyone, but he that was finally being listened to.
Meanwhile, Bella’s crow, Draven witnessed Bella’s distress as he flew across Gotham to find help until he found Batman who arrived at the Hat Shop, and defeated the henchmen, and demanded Jervis to reveal where Bella was. Batman found Bella who was dressed like Alice and she was sedated on the armchair in the tea party room. Jervis then used hypnotism to affect Batman's and Bella’s mind, and trapped them in ’Wonderland' where Tetch put Batman and Bella through several puzzles and forced to complete them before being awakened. Batman helped the hypnotized Bella regain her memories by secretly revealing his secret identity to her, realizing that Batman was her longtime friend, Bruce Wayne who she hasn’t seen since Roxbury Fielding Academy as she broke free from the Mad Hatter’s mind control. Bella promised Batman that his secret identity will remain safe with her.
After Batman and Bella beat Jervis' mind games, they broke free off of the illusion. But the Mad Hatter held Bella hostage again with a knife to her neck in attempt to kill her if Batman tries to save her. But Batman managed to disarm the Mad Hatter and he knocked out the Mad Hatter as he left Bella to call for the GCPD to take The Mad Hatter back to Arkham Asylum.
Crow Woman: The Dark Guardian Angel
On the night of Friday The 13th, Bella was invited by Bruce to show her support at the Wayne Foundation for the charity to the restoration of the Gotham City Cathedral Church.
But on that same night, the Scarecrow and the Mad Hatter had escaped from Arkham Asylum as they invented an new experimental dream sharing technology that would allow them to infiltrate the subconscious of their targets and extract valuable information through a shared dream world which forced Bruce to leave the Wayne Foundation to investigate as Batman.
Meanwhile, Bella received a threatening call from the Mad Hatter, warning her that he will kill the children that he had kidnapped from the Gotham Orphanage if she doesn’t become his “Alice” again and meet him at the Storybook Land Theme Park. Bella wanted to save the children but she also knew that she can’t go after the Scarecrow and the Mad Hatter without exposing herself as a half human and half Wiccan. But Bella believed that the unfortunates deserves protection as she showed a strong sense of desire for independence to help others as she vowed to right the wrongs by redeeming herself from her past mistakes rather than running away from them and she will only use her powers to protect and heal others because she realized that despite her abnormal life, she can help others while having the freedom to be herself at the same time without the fear holding her back anymore. So Bella left the Wayne Foundation and returned home to her condo in Burnside where she adopted a new secret identity to her new alter ego, a new Vigilante by the name Crow Woman: The Guardian Angel after Bella’s crow, Draven became her omen.
During Bella’s first night as Crow Woman, Bella first targeted the Mad Hatter who had kidnapped the children from the Gotham Orphanage to recreate his own twisted fantasy of Wonderland. Bella arrived at the Storybook Land Theme Park where she encountered the Mad Hatter in the Wonderland Hedge Maze and she managed to stop the him and saved the children.
After Bella defeated the Mad Hatter, Batman arrived at the Storybook Land Theme Park in the Wonderland Hedge Maze to interrogate the Mad Hatter into revealing Scarecrow’s location before they left him defenseless for the GCPD while Bella and Batman safely guided the children back to the Gotham Orphanage.
During the investigation, Batman discovered that Bella was secretly Crow Woman. Bella revealed to Batman that she wanted to get back at Scarecrow for what he did to her at Gotham State University. So Bella helped Batman detect Scarecrow’s location inside the abandoned Gotham City Cathedral Church where they found Scarecrow. But Scarecrow sedated Batman and Bella with a mixture of his fear toxin and hallucinogenic sedative for a stable "dream within a dream" strategy that trapped them within the dream realm which is an expanse of infinite raw subconscious that exists as a space that is not dreamt by any one individual, but is a shared space where any mind can make drastic alterations of any kind without limits or obstacles and because of the apparent lack of limitations, the dream realm is a dimension that can allow a dreamer to manifest their deepest desires, but also unwittingly trap themselves in a world where they lose their awareness that the world created is not reality. Batman and Bella discovered that The Scarecrow planned to use the Extraction through the dream sharing machine by infiltrating the mind of any person in Gotham to steal their secrets that works through a process called dream sharing, manufacturing the world of the dream and bringing the subject into that world, which feels completely real as long as they are in it, giving Scarecrow the ability to steal information by infiltrating his victims’s subconscious and he will also torment his victims through his victims’s subconsciousness with Scarecrow’s fear toxin, turning the dream world into a living nightmare.
While Batman and Bella were trapped in Scarecrow’s nightmare, Bella was attempted to stop Scarecrow while Batman was attempted to shut down the dream sharing machine in order to fight back the fear toxin's influence.
During the final confrontation, Bella followed Scarecrow to the top tower of the Gotham City Cathedral Church as he attacked her with a stronger dose of his fear toxin, causing her to hallucinate into seeing her deceased father and her deceased Aunt Eva being burned alive in front of her. Scarecrow tried to use Bella’s fears to brainwash Bella into believing that nobody will ever love her, not even her secret love interest, Bruce Wayne because she is a murderer and that she will forever be alone.
But Bella fought back the Scarecrow’s influence and overcomes her fears that Scarecrow had failed to use it against her as she defeated the hallucination and defeated Scarecrow just as Batman shut down the dream sharing machine that awoken Batman and Bella from the nightmarish hallucinogen back to reality before the Scarecrow, and the Mad Hatter were taken back to Arkham Asylum. Batman promised to Bella that her secret identity as Crow Woman will remain safe with him.
The next day, Bella learned from her last night’s experience that she has to conquer her longtime fears and come face to face with the trouble events from her past and preventing them from controlling her future and therefore finally be free from her longtime fear and guilt that she had lived with throughout her life. So Bella eventually took Bruce’s longtime advice as she bravely owned up to her past mistakes by apologizing to the citizens of Gotham at the Gotham District Courthouse and take the accountability for her past actions when she announced that she was the one responsible for the death of her father, Joseph Cross and the destruction of the Gotham City Cathedral Church as she explained her past actions behind the incident due to her father’s abusive nature throughout her childhood and that she never meant to kill him or destroy the Gotham City Cathedral Church. Bella was thankfully forgiven by the citizens of Gotham as they accepted her apology for her longtime confession with her only have to serve a few years of community service while she had finally gained respect from the people of Gotham.
Later that night, Bella visited Bruce at the Wayne Manor where she confessed her longtime secret feelings for him and they shared their first kiss together on the balcony of the Wayne Manor but it was interrupted by the sight of the Bat-Signal that lit up into the night sky. Bella smiled as she watched Bruce as The Dark Knight driving in his Batmobile across the dark streets towards Gotham, returning to the never-ending battle of crime.
